Anil Kumar, MD, FACPM, serves as the founder and medical director for the Advanced Pain Management Center. Dr. Kumar strives to improve his patients’ quality of life, offering comprehensive interventional pain treatment, substance abuse rehabilitation, and MA state certification for the medical marijuana.

After completing Anesthesiology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was also department chief, Dr. Kumar pursued an additional year of clinical training and research at Massachusetts General Hospital (a Harvard affiliate) for a Pain Management fellowship.

Drawing on his expertise in pain management, Dr. Kumar has published articles in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Boston Globe, and the Boston Herald. He has also been interviewed by national TV networks CBS, NBC, and ABC for bringing the latest pain treatments to the Greater Boston area.

He is board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Kumar is also a member of the American Pain Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP).
